I'm still having problems with my decks - mixer - Ableton - laptop - soundcard setup so until I get it sorted here are a couple of things to tide you over.

Over at our friend George Demure's myspace page is this downloadable track but figured I would put it up here too as myspace can be so temperamental. His new track Main Attraction can be streamed there too and should be making its appearance on little black 7" plastic real soon. Go and buy it as A) its great and B) he's one of the nicest men in music, seriously. Plus its not neu-rave!

And this is most definitely not neu-rave! Its a track by OOIOO called UMA (apparently it means 'horse' in Japanese). Its from OOIOO's new cd TAIGA which you can purchase via import - apparently its going to be released as part of an ep in October backed with a remix by EY3 from The Boredoms! I cannot wait. I also got the EY3 remix #2 of Crue-l Grand Orchestra last week which is worth a listen - even at £12 for an import 12".

Just bought the new Stereolab 7" and the best of Blurt Vol.2 which I'm looking forward to - but the Gregor Samsa LP is still on constant rotation along with Chris Carters - Mondo Beat LP, the How To Cure Dyslexia 7" and some old stuff by The Scars....plus the demos from The Sorcerer and Hatchback that they sent me - glorious electro nu-disco.

An exciting week this week. The first signing to Thisisnotanexit Records has been confirmed - a band called THEY CAME FROM THE STARS, I SAW THEM.

I've been listening to their demo cd on repeat today and believe me they are absolutely revolutionary. Live they are an incredible proposition too. Like nothing else you've ever seen or heard before.

The first release is slated for November with a remix from JD Twitch from Optimo on the b-side if all goes to plan.

And I've got to say they have a hint of early Pink Floyd in their sound - and by that I mean the pioneer that was Syd. Here's a great track from the man himself that always breaks my heart.

And speaking of breaking hearts here's a track by Gregor Samsa - a band that really has been breaking my heart since I discovered them, coming on like Mogwai, Godspeed you black emperor and Galaxie 500 all at once. Truly beautiful stuff. Go and hunt out their LP, seriously you won't regret it.

Following on from last weeks Wedont exclusive I also have this little beauty he's thrown together - Dizzee Rascal vs. Xenon 2. Bizarre as it sounds it works like a dream....makes me want to buy a Commodore 64 off ebay.

Finally here's a track from New Zealand band Shocking Pinks who have been signed up by the DFA. They've also been busy signing up Prinzhorn Dance School from Brighton. Plus go and re-check out Thisisnotanexit Vol.2 if you haven't already as it features the groovy disco track ALTZ - MAXMOTION that has just been licensed to DFA for a re-release. Ahead of the curve, me.

I finally get my decks tomorrow so next week there'll be Blackstrobes Pins & Needles posted up, along with the new Cobblestone Jazz track, an old Jonathan Richman track that everyone should own and the Optimo re-edit of Wolfmother. There should also be a new mix up on the official site.

A little exclusive for you today. Noone has got this yet. I had to steal this from my man wedont's computer! Anyway he's put together a remix of Spank Rock - Far Left which is an absolute stormer. Can I hear some Hardcore in there? Is that Hooligan '69? I think it might be... Anyway download it and play to your friends and if you're feeling fruity be wedonts friend over at myspace. He's also got a record label which will soon make its debut with a lovely little 2 tracker 7" from the lovely Catriona Irving that you can pre-order via the neednowater site link below...

And this has just gone up at The Chromatics myspace site - a demo of a track called BABY that I absolutely adore.

Here's hoping the rumours they're gonna play the UK soon are true.

In other news there will be a new mix up on the official site shortly - and in a shocking twist its not been done by me but by mate Paul. More info once he tidies up the edges. A rather more poppy mix than usual though to reflect either A) the sunshine B) his talents or C) my laziness. You decide.

Thisisnotanexit Vol. 5 will return in September though so don't panic!

Also, I'm on the verge of making the first two signings to Thisisnotanexit Records. Hopefully at least one of them will be confirmed next week and YOU will be the first to find out. Promise.
